Driver Collides with Boy Riding Bike in Northeast Las Vegas

Los Vegas (KLAS) – In the northeast valley, a bicycling boy collided with a car and suffered grave injuries.

According to a release issued by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department around 9:45 PM on July 28th, a 2013 Nissan Altima was traveling south on South Hollywood Boulevard, south of East Marland Brand Avenue, when the driver struck a 15-year-old boy who was riding a motorbike in the northbound direction.

The boy veered down South Hollywood Boulevard and collided with the front part of the car. Emergency responders rushed the young boy with life-threatening injuries to Sunrise Pediatric Hospital.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as 21-year-old Daniela Lomeli, and the passenger riding in the car was identified as 21-year-old Paula Payment. Both remained at the scene of the accident. Lomeli showed no impairment but sustained minor injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital for further evaluation.

The incident is currently under investigation by LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.”
